NS, the main railway operator in the Netherlands, manages a rail network where 90% of trains run perfectly on time. Yet everyone only talks about the remaining 10%, because most people don’t see how much work goes into managing such a complex system. To make that clear for once and for all, I worked with NS to create the documentary series "Op Rolletjes" ("On Track").

Running so many trains on time every single day. It’s easy to forget how much work goes into making sure everything runs as smoothly as possible, so hundreds of thousands of people can travel from A to B. The documentary series “Op Rolletjes" ("On Track”) offers a unique look behind the scenes at the daily operations of one of the busiest railway networks in the world.
We take a look behind the scenes and follow various NS employees who, through their diverse roles, help keep the rail network running smoothly each day. From train drivers and conductors to maintenance technicians and traffic controllers. Each with their own stories and responsibilities. Every day and night, they ensure that trains are ready for daily operations and that passengers reach their destinations quickly, safely and comfortably.
